Why Purchasing Leads Don't Work Most Of The Time

I received a phone call on my cell phone a couple days ago that reminded me why purchasing leads and cold calling never worked out for me. I answered the phone and the guy introduced himself and told me the name of his company which I had never heard of. He told me he was calling because I had submitted information that I was interested in starting a business from home. I told him there must be some kind of mistake, because I already had a home based business and was not looking for anything else, and haven't been for the last few years. I asked him to please take me off his list, thanked him and politely let him go. This brought back some very unpleasant memories for me. Memories of rejection. I knew I had not filled out any information about a home business opportunity. I might have filled out information on the internet for other things but nothing to do with working from home. You see, people spend their hard earned money, purchasing these $3 - $4 each leads and most of the time they are people that filled out information about something else and has no interest in what you have to offer, or they were truly interested in a home business, but after being called by several network marketers in the same day, they quickly change their mind. You have wasted your time and theirs. I am still convinced, if you want to build a huge list of good prospects, you have to generate your own leads. This way, the leads your are generating are people that have opted in to what you have to offer, and not just some poor victim that was shopping on line for sporting goods and got added to a biz opportunity leads list. Again, if you want to build a huge list of highly qualified prospects, my suggestion is to generate your own leads.

I usually get 1 or 2 signups per day in my internet marketing business, but today however was an exception. I received 5 signups today. The only thing I had done different was launch another Google Adwords ad. I have used Google Adwords before but had taken a break from it to test some other forms of marketing, which I occasionally do. This is proof that Google Adwords definitely works as long as you set it up right with all the right keywords. The beauty of it is, I received all these signups while I was off doing something else. That is the great thing about marketing your network marketing business through internet marketing
versus cold calling and home parties, once you get things setup, if you do it the right way, it pretty much runs on auto-pilot.

Do the old ways of network marketing still work? Well, that is a question that has many answers. According to your sponsor in most mlm companies they do, but if you could watch your upline or some of the other heavy hitters everyday, they are not always doing the same things they teach you to do. What do I mean about the old ways? I am talking about making a list of your friends and family and people you went to preschool with, only to find none of these people want to talk to you anymore about the next best thing. I am talking about hosting parties at your house every week only to see the one person you signed up a month ago show up by themselves. I am talking about purchasing expensive leads and spending hours each night on the phone calling these leads that have already been contacted by 10 other marketers that week and really don't want any more phone calls. So, do these things really work? Maybe for a person that is willing to stick it out no matter what it takes, but there are not to many of those people out there. For me, these things did not work. I got burned out in a few months, and so will most other people.
So why does your upline tell you to do these things. Well, it is easy to duplicate and maybe they really don't know what else to tell you. I am here to tell you there is a better
way. That better way is building your network marketing business online, generating your own leads and having access to thousands of prospects, that will not leave you in the "No Friends Left Club". There are many ways to build your business online. The best thing to do is get plugged into a system that lays everything out for you in simple steps. This is what it took for me and I no longer struggle with who I am going to put on my list next. I have my prospects coming to me, because they have an interest in what I have to offer. So do the old ways of network marketing still work? If you want to make a couple hundred dollars a month and you find the right company, then maybe. If you want to build a multiple income stream and earn residual monthly checks from now on, then the answer in my opinion is, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!
